War system

The world map is made up of tiles that follow natural terrain. Nations can claim land by claiming these tiles, like how nations would consist of tiles in strategy games.

How to declare war?
In order to declare war, you must first select a tile of your own, and then a valid enemy tile. An enemy tile is valid if it connects to one of the enemy's tiles. It can do so in two ways; by physically being next to the tile, or very close across a river, or if it has a port. In the context of wars, ports can be used to wage wars overseas, but only if you have a port yourself too.

What happens once war is declared?
Once you are involved in a war, either by declaring one yourself, getting attacked, or joining one, you will have time to do preparations. Wars can be declared in the weekdays, until Thursdays, at 8pm CET. Other than preparing gear, you will most likely also need to edit a list of fighters in your nation. By default, all members of your nations are signed up for fighting. You can also try to call in allies to the war. You can also edit the warp point of your tile, in order to maximize defense or offense, or to move it inside a castle etc.

How can I help my ally?
If you wish to help your ally, you can do this in two ways: the first one is to send mercenaries. They have to be approved by the nation you're helping, and they have to manually join in themselves. You can send one mercenary per nation fighting on the opponent's side. The second way is to fully join in on the war. In order to do this, you have to select a tile to use. You can participate both as a nation or as mercenary only until Fridays at 8pm CET, 24 hours before the first battlesession.

How does battles work?
The battles are in preset sessions, at 8pm Saturdays and Sundays. Once a battle starts, all participants in the fighter lists are teleported to their respective tiles. If a fighter is offline, they will be teleported once they are online. If you die in combat, you will automatically respawn in your nation's capital. You can warp back to the tile spawn at any time, with a 20 second warp time.

How do I win battles?
To win battles, you need to get points. You can get points by placing down any banner in the enemy tile. Once you place it down, you have to defend it for 2 minutes. If you successfully defend it, it will disappear and you will get points. If you fail to defend it, the enemies will get half of the points you would've gotten. The amount of points varies depending on how close to the enemies tile spawn it is. The minimum is 50, and maximum is 100, per banner. One side can only place down three banners at a time. If you win the war, you occupy the enemy tile. Each battle will go on for 60 minutes, and the winner is the side with the most time after the time is up.

How does wars end?
Wars can end if the involved nations stops fighting and doesn't re-declare wars every week. If a war has been declared, it can be stopped if one side resigns, and the other side approves. You can also win by fully capturing every single tile of the enemy nation, or capturing the capital tile. However, rushing towards the capital tile is risky, because if the occupied tiles get cut off from your nation geographically, the enemy will automatically get a tile back per battle session from the occupied tiles, regardless if you will the next battles or not. This will go on until you reconnect, or lose all your progress.

How does capital tiles work?
The capital tile is always the last tile to get taken, and it can not be used as a tile to declare war from, except if it's the last tile standing. A nation with only their capital tile left can not join any war. If an ally loses all tiles but the capital, they are out of the war.
